Job Description
Our client in the logistics sector is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Logistics Planner to join their team in Pinetown. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing and managing logistics plans to meet daily KPI targets, ensuring smooth operations and effective coordination across teams.
The role requires strong communication skills, problem-solving ability, and the capacity to work well under pressure. Proficiency in Excel, logistics planning software (OPSI), and the ability to adapt quickly when exceptions arise are essential.
Responsibilities include:
- Planning and managing daily and weekly logistics using OPSI.
- Communicating with drivers, customer service reps, and management.
- Tracking and confirming deliveries, goods received, and dispatch notes.
- Addressing delays, queries, and route issues.
- Meeting with production and sales to review load priorities.
- Monitoring execution of plans on Zeno and updating databases.
- Identifying and raising logistics concerns, proposing improvements.
- Proven logistics planning experience.
- Computer literacy with intermediate Excel knowledge.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
