We ensure profitable growth is achieved in an ethical, socially responsible and environmentally sustainable manner and believe that it is only by doing business in a sustainable way that long-term value for all can be delivered.Key DeliverablesStrategic effectivenessProactively manage daily freight forwarding activities of the company to include all sea, air, road and warehousing operationsEffectively analyze counterparty (CP) Risk/sanctioned check and proposing to risk office with all document for CP limits.Understanding of fulfillment/logistics/distribution opportunities and challenges in a fast paced, ever changing organization Negotiating of charterparties for spot voyages, consecutive voyages, period time charters and trip time charters, as well as COAs (Contracts of Affreightment)Consolidation of reports including position report for all products & regionsPlan and supervise the shipments from production to the end-user.Updating internal stakeholders on local activity to synergize fleetxe2x80x99s resources between global offices.Provide requisite information to traders as and when there is a requirement.Operational effectivenessInvestigating and planning the most appropriate route for a shipment, taking account of the perishable or hazardous nature of the goods, cost, transit time and securityLiaising with third parties to move goods (by road, rail, air or sea) in accordance with customer requirementsArranging payment of freight and other charges or collection of payment on behalf of the clientRequirementsAt least 8-15 years of proven work experience as a Transportation Manager, Shipping Manager or similar roleGood knowledge of various systems of chartering, Contractual negotiations.Understanding of IT systems and applications that facilitate management control.Strong mental ability with deep analytical and problem-solving skill.Effective interpersonal & communication skills, be self-driven and ready to interact with all levels in the organization.Strong ability to motivate, train and coach employees to encourage optimum performance and engagement.Olam is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
