About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for a Logistics Manager to lead and develop the logistics strategy and roadmap for a major automotive manufacturing plant. This role requires a strong leader to design, implement, and optimize logistics flows while ensuring seamless support to production and alignment with lean manufacturing principles.
The successful candidate will oversee the end-to-end logistics processes, from inbound KD systems to outbound flows, and will play a critical role in resource optimization, production planning, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute an effective logistics roadmap for current and future operations.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing logistics team.
  • Ensure safe logistics operations across production, quality, and material handling.
  • Design and implement logistics processes including goods receipt, inventory, binning, storage, material preparation, and line supply.
  • Manage reverse logistics (empty containers, scrap flows, and outbound loading).
  • Monitor inventory management processes to ensure accuracy and availability.
  • Drive elimination of supply chain issues to support uninterrupted production.
  • Estimate and optimize logistics resources (manpower, machines, facilities, layout, and costs).
  • Collaborate on cross-functional and industrial projects to deliver strategic objectives.
  • Contribute to management-level KPIs and business strategy implementation.
  • Foster synergies with global partners and align with industry best practices.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial/Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • A Master's degree will be an advantage.
Experience & Skills
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in the automotive industry with a strong focus on logistics and lean manufacturing.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing diverse teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Deep understanding of logistics processes, systems, and lean practices.
  • Skilled in project management, strategy formulation, and change management.
  • Excellent communication and networking abilities in English.
  • Business acumen and the ability to drive continuous improvement.
Technical Skills
  • ERP systems (SAP/Syspro or similar).
  • Advanced MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • AutoCAD knowledge.
  • Understanding of port and transportation regulations.
  • Familiarity with SARS rebate and scrapping processes.
