Job Description
Job Summary We have a position available for a Logistics Loading Planner and Master in the Durban area. To qualify for these positions candidates require: At least a Matric education background, additional qualification of supply chain will be preferred. Minimum 5+ years of proven experience in the logistics loading will be preferred. Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular). Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work. Attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task. Efficient when working in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in data analysis, for planning The duties expected of the successful applicant are as follows but not limited to: Client liaison and updating Master Data daily. Requesting bookings slots. Acquiring any outstanding documentation. Identify and select the best mode of transportation to reduce costs. Develop relationships with current and new carriers and continually negotiate competitive rates with an entire carrier pool of transporters. Liaise with port authorities to ensure that permit/s are in place to gain access to the various berths in Durban to witness discharge of vessels. Attending shipping agent Pre-Plan meeting in Durban prior to break bulk vessel arrival. Coordinate with Port Authorities, Transporters, Marine Surveyor/s to be present during loading and reloading operations and more.
