What wexe2x80x99re looking for:
We are looking for a Logistics Frontline Manager to join our dynamic team. The role is physically located in Germiston, Gauteng reporting to the Central Distribution Center (CDC) Manager. The role is responsible to manage and control daily/weekly demand requirements within the warehouse environment on a shift basis in such a way that it drives cost, quality and efficiency. The individual is also responsible for making decisions that influence daily/weekly warehouse performance and productivity and to balance several variables to the required service level of sales.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for the following:


Responsible for daily, Weekly and Monthly KPI Scorecard updates and trend analysis and decision making.

  • Own and manage all CDC ad hoc projects
  • Manage site Contract performance and monthly Reviews (Cleaning, Security, Pest Control etc)
  • Co-ordinate OEP (Operational Excellence Programme) for the site across all department by tracking action logs and routines adherence.
  • Ensure regular health, safety and Hygiene standards (AIB) are communicated, understood and maintained by all staff.
  • Maintain favorable working environment with regards to company policies and procedures, recognition agreement and labour legislation.
  • Manage all training plans schedule adherence for the site
  • Responsible for consolidating warehouse cost for LE/AOP and productivity Inputs.
  • Track and Drive warehouse productivity projects to ensure Targets are achieved
  • Lead warehouse optimisation plans with all support functions
  • MHE Management and liaising with Fleet department
  • Maintenance of facilities and equipment to meet required standards.
  • Ensure freight optimization through effective load planning
  • Ensure that the optimization of the four KPIxe2x80x99s of cost, service, quality and people are maintained.
  • Manage Isando operations including Joloda maintenance and functionality.



SDCA
  • Define department using SIPOC Model
  • Clearly defined PIxe2x80x99s and KPIxe2x80x99s and process maps to task levels for the department
  • Effective SOPxe2x80x99s for all critical taskxe2x80x99s
  • Sound and effective SLAxe2x80x99s.
  • Effective routines and Reviewxe2x80x99s
  • Responsible for warehouse maturity matrix and EHS maturity CDC Target



Key Controls:
  • Ensure all Key Control protocols and sampling requirements are adhered to and submitted on the GCS portal timeously.
  • Ensure no outstanding PODs for the site



Cost:
  • Manage cost within the AOP.
  • Ensure accurate forecasts submitted for P4F and P9F
  • Ensure cost per case targets are met
  • Manage Pallet costs within targets set
  • Manage absenteeism < 2%.
  • Ensure limited use of contract labour and monitoring Deeming provision risk (only where justified and approved by HR)
  • Manage all Warehouse assets.
  • Drive Productivity projects




Service:
  • Ensure 95% Service Level (Fill rate)
  • Ensure 95% On time Delivery
  • Ensure accurate and timely communication of delays to pro-actively manage customers
  • Report on CDC truck Turn Around Times (TATs) are submitted timely and accurate with the associated actions to correct deviations from required numbers



People:
  • Implement Monthly Site town hall
  • Identify training needs for warehouse staff.
  • Ensure sound management policies and practices are in place and adhered to.
  • Manage contract labour (where justified) and ensure source documentation is validated on hours worked/overtime etc.
  • Plan and set shifts for Warehouse employees.
  • Ensure disciplinary action is taken where recurring deviations to standards are found



MCRS
  • Meeting schedule / All Departments xe2x80x93 Meeting matrix
  • Reminders xe2x80x93 structure for visibility and adherence
Qualifications: What will qualify you for the role
  • Tertiary qualification Production/Operations Management, Industrial Engineering or related field
  • Previous managerial/ supervisory experience is advantageous
  • Computer literate in MS Office
  • Good Report writing
