Job Description

PORT ELIZABETH DISTRIBUTORS, situated in Port Elizabeth is a Distribution Depot in the Dairy Industry that handles the distribution of dairy products and fruit juices on behalf of Darling Romery (Pty ) Ltd.
We invite applications for the role of Logistics Coordinator within the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) perishable sector. The successful candidate will join an accomplished team dedicated to ensuring the efficient delivery of fresh products in a demanding, high-volume supply chain. Candidates with a demonstrated commitment to operational effectiveness and continuous improvement are encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Excel Utilisation: Apply Excel functions for stock analysis, forecasting, and comprehensive reporting, thereby supporting informed, data-driven decision-making processes.
Inventory Management: Oversee all aspects of stock procurement and maintain optimal inventory levels to maximise product freshness, minimise wastage, and ensure consistent product availability.
Stock Rotation (FIFO): Implement and monitor rigorous First-In, First-Out (FIFO) protocols to safeguard product quality and reduce losses.
Order Fulfilment: Supervise and refine order picking operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and punctual fulfilment of customer requirements.
Delivery Route Optimisation: Strategically design and optimise delivery routes, balancing efficiency, speed, and reliability to guarantee timely distribution.
Equipment Maintenance Scheduling: Develop and manage service schedules for all logistics equipment, utilising Excel to monitor service intervals and uphold operational continuity and safety standards.
Relevant experience in logistics, supply chain, or warehouse management, ideally within the FMCG perishable sector.
Comprehensive understanding of inventory management and stock rotation, with a particular emphasis on FIFO methodologies.
Excellent organisational and time-management abilities, with a proven capacity to prioritise and manage multiple objectives in a high-pressure environment.
Demonstrated analytical acumen and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to collaborative teamwork.
A strong motivation for continuous improvement and operational excellence.
