Job Description

We are looking for a Logistics Coordinator. This is a hands-on position and well-suited for someone who is eager to manage and coordinate all the aspects of the import logistics and supply chain operations within a global manufacturing environment. This is a permanent role based in Boksburg.
ResponsibiIlties
- Support day-to-day import logistics operations including freight movements, shipment scheduling, order tracking and delivery coordination.
- Collaborate with suppliers and transport companies to ensure materials are delivered in the correct time frame and accommodated within the production schedule.
- Track, trace and provide updates on the status of shipments and identify any risks to late delivery and mitigate these risks where necessary.
- Manage import documentation and shipments and arrange payments of customs duties and VAT with the Finance team.
- Obtain competitive pricing for import shipments, selecting the best routing options and freight methodology to minimise cost without extending delivery lead time.
- Ensure compliance with import regulations and customs clearance procedures and remain up to date with any changes in customs requirements.
Requirements
- The ideal candidate will have a degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Management or similar
- At least 3 - 5 years' experience in an FMCG/Manufacturing environment.
- A thorough understanding of import logistics and Production and Warehouse processes is essential for this role.
- The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational, time-management and problem-solving abilities.
