The Fresh Produce Exporters' Forum (FPEF) Graduate Placement Programme is a proudly South African initiative aimed at driving transformation in the fresh fruit export industry. It offers high-potential black South African graduates the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in logistics, commercial, and technical (post-harvest quality management) roles at leading fruit export companies. This one-year internship is designed to equip graduates with practical skills, industry exposure, and professional development in a real-world business environment, with the potential to grow into long-term career opportunities. The programme plays a vital role in integrating talented individuals into the commercial and operational heart of the industry, in line with BEE objectives.

A well-established fruit export company based in Paarl is offering a graduate internship in Logistics Coordination. The company specializes in the marketing and export of premium South African fruit to global markets, with a strong focus on operational efficiency, customer service, and supply chain excellence.
Key Learning Areas and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with stock system administration, including daily intakes, dispatches, and general stock control using DIPAR.
  • Support shipping administration, including load entry, booking confirmations, Q67 documentation, and filing.
  • Help coordinate weekly container bookings with shipping lines and clearing & forwarding (C&F) agents.
  • Organize and follow up on road transport and loading instructions to cold rooms, packhouses, and ports.
  • Complete and submit Shipping Instructions (SI's) and assist with client allocations.
  • Prepare documentation for C&F agents and clients, including packing lists and commercial invoices.
  • Update and distribute sailing schedules, and follow up on stock and loading-related queries.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Skills and Competencies:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Basic understanding of export procedures and systems.
  • Familiarity with DIPAR and Paltrack (advantageous).
  • Strong administrative and coordination skills.
Qualifications:
  • Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Trade, or a related field.
Personal Attributes:
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Proactive and able to work independently.
  • Strong communicator and team player.
  • Able to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
  • BEE candidate and SA citizen
  • Applicants must be under the age of 30.
