Job Description

The Lodge Manage r will be responsible for ensuring the seamless running of all operational departments, maintaining five-star service standards, and driving a guest-centric culture across the lodge. This role requires a hands-on leader who can manage staff, uphold operational excellence, support the General Manager team, and consistently enhance the guest experience. The lodge is based in a remote reserve, and candidates must be comfortable living and working in a bush environment.



Key Responsibilities:



Oversee daily lodge operations across Front of House, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and F&B.



Ensure the highest level of guest service, anticipating needs and resolving issues professionally.



Lead, mentor, and motivate staff to maintain exceptional standards of hospitality.



Work closely with Reservations, Guides, and Management to coordinate guest stays and activities.



Uphold all lodge procedures, health & safety standards, and service protocols.



Assist with budgets, cost control, stock monitoring, and operational reporting.



Manage guest feedback, online reputation, and service recovery when required.



Support recruitment, training, performance management, and team development.



Maintain the appearance, functionality, and upkeep of lodge facilities.



Ensure smooth communication between all lodge departments.

3-5 years' management experience in a luxury lodge or high-end hospitality environment.



Strong leadership and staff management skills with the ability to inspire a team.



Excellent communication skills and a polished, guest-focused approach.



Solid understanding of lodge operations, administration, and service standards.



Ability to work independently, multitask under pressure, and problem-solve effectively.



Computer literate with experience in hospitality systems (PMS, reservations, stock systems).



Professional, presentable, and passionate about guest experience and the safari industry.



Willingness to live and work in a remote bush environment.



Valid driver's licence essential.
