Lodge Management Couple required in the Free State

We are looking for a management couple with formal hospitality qualifications and at least 3 years’ experience, for a Game Lodge situated in the, Free Sate. Conferencing and Wedding experience is essential as this is the main focus of the Lodge. The Lodge manager is responsible for organizing and coordinating all lodge operations and procedures in order to ensure organizational effectiveness and efficiency. To organise and supervise all the operational and administrative activities that facilitate smooth running of the Lodge. This includes general management, guest experience, staffing and HR, housekeeping, maintenance & security, game viewing – and other activities. The Front of House and Food & Beverage manager will be responsible for managing all F&B operations and delivering an excellent guest experience. Also responsible for all admin purposes. The successful candidate will be able to forecast, plan and control all F&B functions, staff and financial aspects of the department including food and beverage costs. The F&B Manager should be hands-on with the Lodge manager, working efficiently and effectively within budget and to the highest standing whilst leading the team by mentoring & motivating employees. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Liaise effectively with kitchen, housekeeping and bar to ensure the smooth running of the Lodge.
  • Stocktaking of equipment, food, beverage, linen at specified intervals
  • Liaise with customers regarding special functions, weddings etc.
  • Ensure all stocks are timeously ordered and fresh produce acquired
  • Ensure guests are check in and all details captured correctly on the system
  • Capturing of reservations accurately and correctly
  • Ensure that all charges in guest`s accounts are correct at check out
  • Responsible for checking of rooms to standards laid down
  • Coordinating weddings, conferences and functions
  • Financial administration, Cash up, Petty cash, bank statements etc.
  • Check and report maintenance.
  • Effective communication with staff and guests
  • Good organisational skills
  • Menu planning and food preparation
  • Capturing stock on system
  • Marketing and planning of events
  • Knowledge of Panstrat will be beneficial.
  • Driver licence
