LIVE-IN HOUSEKEEPER / COOK

Location: Constantia, Cape Town

Position: Full-Time, Live-In

Salary: R8,000 per month (plus accommodation)

Start Date: As soon as possible

About the Role

A professional and trustworthy live-in housekeeper/cook is required for a private residence in Constantia.


The home is large and well-maintained, and the client is often away, so reliability, initiative, and honesty are essential.


This role is best suited to someone who takes pride in their work, can manage household tasks independently, and enjoys cooking or baking occasionally.

Requirements

3-5 years of experience working in private homes. Strong references confirming reliability, honesty, and high housekeeping standards. Confident in the kitchen - able to cook basic meals and bake occasionally. Must be trustworthy, respectful of privacy, and able to work without supervision. Neat appearance and good communication skills. Non-smoker preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Full household cleaning and maintenance (floors, dusting, bathrooms, kitchen, laundry, ironing). Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization throughout a large home. Prepare simple, home-style meals when required and bake or cook something special when family or guests visit. Manage household supplies -- keep the home stocked and tidy. Take initiative to see what needs to be done without constant supervision. Ensure the home is secure, neat, and cared for when the employer is away. Assist with small errands or help prepare rooms for guests when needed.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, full-day schedule. Occasional flexibility on weekends when guests visit (time off in lieu).
