Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Dictaphone and copy-typing of a wide range of legal documents
  • Typing, formatting, collating, and amending notices and pleadings
  • Ensuring all document amendments are accurately incorporated
  • Preparing and maintaining resource, counsel, and client files
  • Managing diaries, telephone calls, and messages for legal professionals
  • General office and personal administrative support
  • Preparing pre-bills and billing memoranda
  • Liaising with the accounts department regarding debtors and collections
  • Managing FICA-related administration and follow-ups
  • Liaising with clients, counsel, presiding officers, experts, and service providers as instructed
Requirements
  • 710 years experience as a Litigation / Legal Secretary
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Word and Excel
  • Working knowledge of a legal accounting system (e.g. Aderant Expert or similar)
  • Experience with document management systems (e.g. iManage or similar)
  • Legal secretarial diploma, paralegal qualification, or similar (advantageous)
  • Matric certificate (essential)
