Are you a self-assured Legal Secretary, working within the commercial and civil litigation sector?
Our very well established client based in Cape Town CBD, requires a right hand with excellent drafting skills and sound understanding of high court litigation processes.
This is an excellent opportunity for an independent, meticulous individual who will be on top of this demanding role.
REQUIREMENTS

• Matric, plus relevant legal qualification
• A sound understanding of High Court litigation processes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
• Experience in commercial agreements
• Strong organisational, communication, and administrative skills
• The ability to work independently
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

DUTIES

• Drafting, formatting, and preparing court pleadings, notices, affidavits, summonses, and commercial agreements
• Managing filing of court documents via relevant court systems and ensuring compliance with court rules and deadlines
• Diary management for attorneys, including court dates, consultations, and deadlines
• Liaising with clients, counsel, sheriffs, messengers, and court officials in a professional manner
• Managing litigation files (physical and electronic), ensuring accurate indexing and record keeping
• Preparing and managing trial bundles, discovery files, and pagination
• Attending to billing, time capturing, invoicing, and follow-ups on outstanding accounts
• Opening, maintaining, and closing client files in accordance with firm procedures
• Conducting basic legal research and assisting with case preparation where required
• Handling correspondence, emails, and telephone communications
• Ensuring compliance with FICA, POPIA, and internal compliance requirements (if applicable)
• Performing ad hoc administrative and secretarial duties as required
