Duties & Responsibilities
Legal Advisory
Corporate Law:
Advise on corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other corporate transactions to ensure compliance with legal requirements and alignment with the company's strategic goals.
Commercial Contracts:
Provide legal guidance on the drafting, negotiation, and execution of commercial contracts, ensuring that all terms are clear, enforceable, and protect the company's interests.
Employment Law:
Offer expert advice on employment-related matters, including employee contracts, workplace policies, dispute resolution, and compliance with labour laws in various jurisdictions.
Contract Management
Drafting Contracts:
Prepare comprehensive and legally sound contracts that clearly outline the rights and obligations of all parties involved, minimizing potential legal risks.
Reviewing Contracts:
Conduct thorough reviews of contracts to identify and address any legal issues, ambiguities, or potential risks, ensuring that the company's interests are safeguarded.
Negotiating Agreements:
Lead negotiations with international clients, partners, and suppliers to achieve favourable terms and conditions, while maintaining positive business relationships.
Compliance
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure that the company's operations adhere to international laws and regulations, including data protection, anti-bribery, and anti-corruption laws, by implementing robust compliance programs.
Audits:
Conduct regular compliance audits and assessments to identify gaps and implement corrective actions, ensuring continuous adherence to legal standards.
Risk Management
Risk Assessments:
Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential legal risks associated with the company.
Risk Mitigation Strategies:
Advise on and implement measures to minimize exposure to legal liabilities, including the development of risk management frameworks and policies.
Monitoring Emerging Risks:
Stay informed about emerging legal risks and trends, providing proactive solutions to address potential issues before they escalate.
Dispute Resolution
Legal Representation:
Represent the company in legal proceedings, including litigation, arbitration, and mediation, to protect the company's interests and achieve favourable outcomes.
Negotiating Settlements:
Negotiate settlements in legal disputes to resolve conflicts efficiently and cost-effectively, minimizing disruption to the company's operations.
Preventive Measures:
Develop and implement strategies to prevent disputes, including the creation of clear contractual terms and effective communication channels.
Policy Development
Creating Policies:
Develop and implement legal policies and procedures that support the company's international operations, ensuring consistency and compliance across all business activities.
Regular Updates:
Review and update policies regularly to reflect changes in laws and regulations, ensuring that the company's practices remain current and compliant.

Qualifications
Minimum qualification of Bachelors Degree in Law.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a legal role, preferably with a focus on corporate law and contract law.
Experience working within multi-jurisdictional legal environments is a plus
Proficiency in English and French is required
Strong background in Legal research and understanding of International regulations is a plus.
