About the Company
A renewable energy specialist providing customised solutions to commercial power needs. Their designs are earmarked for maximising solar efficiency. They seek to appoint a legal professional in the Legal Contracts Specialist position. As they continue to expand, they are looking for a legal professional who will play a key role in supporting operations through effective contract management and legal oversight.
The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure that contracts are accurately drafted, legally compliant, and aligned with company goals. Preferably, you have in-house exposure in renewable energy with a significant background in preparing contracts.
Position: Junior Legal Contracts
Location: Johannesburg
Qualifications: Law degree (LLB equivalent)
Renewable Energy experience is essential
PPA experience
2-4 year's experience in a similar role
Salary: R600,000 and an annual performance-based bonus.

Compliance and Risk Mitigation
Contracts Specialist with demonstrated experience in managing PPAs, O&M agreements, and
NDA's
Duties and Responsibilities:

• Draft, review, and manage a range of legal agreements, including but not limited to:

• Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs)
• Operations & Maintenance Agreements (O&M)
• Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
• Lead and facilitate contract negotiations with clients, partners, and vendors
• Ensure that all contracts are compliant with applicable laws and company policies
• Conduct risk assessments related to contractual obligations and propose risk mitigation strategies
• Advise internal stakeholders on legal and regulatory issues related to contract execution
• Maintain contract records and manage the life cycle of contractual agreements
• Oversee company secretarial responsibilities, including CIPC (Companies and Intellectual Property Commission) filings and compliance
• Stay current with legislative and regulatory developments in the energy and commercial sectors
