Job Role:
The Legal and Compliance Advisor will be required to support the business with general and commercial legal advice / guidance on a broad range of high impact business initiatives.
Responsibilities:
  • Drafting, reviewing and assisting with the negotiation of various commercial agreements.
  • Providing legal advice and opinions on various legal matters.
  • Advice and assistance on effective new legislative enactments, amendments and matters affecting the fintech and payment space.
  • Working knowledge of company, tax and consumer legislation, including the National Credit Act (NCA), the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), and the Financial Intelligence Centre Act (FICA).
  • Facilitate dispute resolution and litigation process.
  • Mergers and Acquisitions advice including due diligence investigations.
  • Management and advice regarding trademarks, copyright and design matters.
  • Conduct legal research, draft legal opinions, and provide legal advice.
  • Provide or facilitate training.
  • Pro-actively understand and be able to communicate and advise on pending legal changes / Acts that will affect Flash.
  • Support the legal team as required.
  • Working knowledge of company secretarial procedures.
Requirements:
  • A BAccLLB qualification.
  • At least 1 - 2 years of post-qualification experience in legal and/or accounting / risk / business finance.
  • Experience in contract drafting and negotiation.
  • Preferably admission as both attorney and CA.
