Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Administrative Assistant to support our Head of Legal. This half-day role involves providing administrative and organisational support on legal and compliance matters, ensuring the smooth running of legal processes, and assisting with corporate governance and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Contract Administration: Review standard agreements (NDAs, T&Cs, SLAs, credit applications, lease and supplier contracts), identify key terms and risks, and maintain the contract register.
Compliance Support: Assist with collecting and verifying FICA and KYC documents, ensuring compliance records are accurate and up to date.
Administrative Support: Schedule meetings, track deadlines, and follow up on outstanding information or documentation.
Document Management: Review and format legal documents, coordinate secure filing and delivery of physical and digital records.
Liaison: Act as a key contact point for routine legal queries and assist in finalising contracts with internal and external stakeholders.
General Legal Support: Provide day-to-day assistance to Legal Counsel on projects, correspondence, and ad-hoc tasks.
Qualifications and Experience:
Matric (Grade 12) required; a paralegal diploma/certificate advantageous.
At least 35 years experience in a corporate or legal environment (law firm, in-house legal team, or compliance department).
Knowledge of FICA, compliance, and basic contract management preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
