Key Responsibilities

Deliver engaging teaching in medical sciences at undergraduate and postgraduate level Develop and pursue an independent research program Supervise postgraduate students Contribute to curriculum development and implementation Participate in student assessment and academic support Engage in scholarly activities, research projects and research publications Contribute to departmental meetings and various departmental academic and administrative activities and take on

academic citizenship activities within the department and the University.Seek research funding opportunities and collaborations

Experience and Skills

Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively in an academic setting Demonstrated commitment to evidence-based practice Familiarity with contemporary teaching methods Potential to secure research funding Evidence of research potential through publications and/or conference presentations

Essential Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Medicine (MBBCh) and completion of internship and community service. Registration with professional council

- Previous teaching experience - a minimum of a year of teaching experience (tutoring or teaching assistance is acceptable) is required.Research and post graduate supervisory experience at a tertiary level e.g. At least 1 article published in peer review publications AND/OR at least 1 PG trainee supervised.

Advantages:

Successful completion of additional degrees and/or a postgraduate qualification in Health Sciences Education would be an advantage.
