STADIO (Pty) Ltd is inviting applications for the position of:

Lecturer: FP Mathematics (Foundation Phase Studies/Mathematics, Science and Technology/Teaching Practice

Start date January 2026

Key roles and responsibilities:

Lecture and assess contact learning students in the BEd (foundation phase teaching) programme in the following modules:

Mathematics for foundation phase 1 MFP201

Mathematics for foundation phase 2 MFP301

Mathematics for foundation phase 3 MFP402

Institutional teaching practice 2 ITP200

School-based teaching practice 2 TPR200

Institutional teaching practice 4 ITP402

School-based teaching practice 4 TPR401

Compile teaching, learning, and assessment materials.

Use a learning management system independently and/or work collaboratively to develop and deliver modules.

Participate in relevant programme, curriculum, and material development.

Carry out allocated internal moderation responsibilities.

Carry out invigilation of venue-based assessments as reasonably required by the Registrar's Office.

Participate in school-based teaching practice assessments.

Provide academic support to students.

Complete all quality assurance requirements related to the modules and programmes.

Participate in research and community engagement projects.

Ensure prompt and effective communication with students, colleagues, line managers, and other members of management.

Ensure administrative efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with all policies and SOPs.

Participate in and attend meetings and workshops.

1Fulfill functions on relevant committees, and in meetings and workshops as reasonably requested by management.

Fulfill all reasonably expected administrative functions relating to the position and as requested by the relevant line manager.



REQUIREMENTS

Minimum requirements

At least 3 years of teaching and /or lecturing experience in the relevant phase/discipline

Must have a relevant teaching qualification.

Knowledge and understanding of the diverse subject matter, as well as work-based learning (teaching practice).

Experience in online teaching and learning environments.

Qualification:

Minimum bachelor of education honours or equivalent qualification with relevant study in the foundation phase mathematics

Skills and abilities required

Sound teaching and assessment skills.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong organisational, time management, and coordination skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines.

High level of computer proficiency with good knowledge of modern Information Technology infrastructure and online learning platforms.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Ability to cope with change.

Willingness to work when required on Saturdays.
