Job Purpose
To support the faculty and department in pursuit of its academic and research objectives which include to teach according to a set syllabus; undertake research and innovation; contribute to curriculum development and design; engage in work integrated learning and develop service-learning activities.


Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience
A Master's Degree in Visual Communication Design or Graphic Design At least two (2) years' relevant Lecturing experience in Higher Education

Recommendations

Advanced working knowledge of photography for Visual Communication Design Working knowledge of the full Adobe Suite of software i.e Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, In Design, After Effects and Adobe XD (Subject to a competency test) At least two (2) years' Industry experience in Visual Communication Design




You will be required to submit a portfolio of evidence

Specialist knowledge:

Creative strategy, Branding, Copywriting, Typography, Publication, UI and UX Design, Online media


Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities
Lectures subjects within the field of Visual Communication Design Participate in curriculum development Perform appropriate academic and administrative duties in the Department Participate in the Quality Assurance activities of the Department Participate in research Contribute to community initiatives by integrating community interventions into curriculum. Develop and maintain linkages with industry and professional bodies on co-operative education, new techniques/technologies, and research projects Assist with marketing and recruitment activities Perform other functions as may be assigned by the Head of Department Competencies
