Job Requirements
A Master's degree in Accounting or a closely related field.
A minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience at a tertiary institution, or five (5) years of relevant professional experience in the accounting field.
Sound knowledge of Cost Accounting and Financial Accounting.
Extensive teaching experience at Grade 12 level will be considered an added advantage.
A Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education or prior teaching experience in an Extended Curriculum/Foundation Programme will be an added advantage.
Strong teaching and presentation skills with the ability to engage and inspire students.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across diverse backgrounds and cultures, both in person and through digital communication channels.
Duties:
Ensure academic quality and compliance by selecting prescribed textbooks, compiling lecture notes, study guides, and practical manuals. Deliver lectures and tutorials in alignment with the syllabus, while overseeing tutor activities and providing mentorship to students. Assess student performance through the preparation, administration, and marking of tests, examinations, projects, and assignments. Advance subject expertise and contribute to institutional knowledge through research collaboration, independent research, conference participation, and publication of scholarly work. Support departmental operations, including student registration and selection processes. * Participate in community development initiatives by preparing project proposals, leading approved projects, and engaging in external development activities.
