The Department of Political Studies at the University of the Witwatersrand is looking to appoint one (1) new member of academic staff at the level of Lecturer or Senior Lecturer.
This is permanent position at the rank of either Lecturer or Senior Lecturer (1 position). The Department particularly encourages applications from scholars who have knowledge of, and are prepared to teach in, the Politics of Development and/or Comparative Politics.
The successful candidate will be expected to be able to immediately integrate into the Department's lifeworld through teaching large and diverse classes in all years of study, cooperating with colleagues in advancing the objectives of the Department, and contributing actively to the intellectual and administrative life of the Department and University. Candidates at both Lecturer and Senior Lecturer levels should possess a PhD. Candidates with experience with university teaching, supervision of post-graduate students, an established publication record will have a strong advantage at both levels. Candidates with an established track record of academic administration and fundraising will have an advantage at the Senior Lecturer level.
