Programme Manager: School of Humanities and Social Science Varsity College is an educational brand of The Independent Institute of Education (The IIE). The IIE enjoys the reputation of being at the forefront of private higher education in South Africa and is registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) to provide higher education qualifications accredited by the Council on Higher Education (CHE). The IIE Varsity College, Durban North Campus has a part-time second semester lecturer (Independent Contractor) vacancy available for the School of Education for the 2024 academic year for the following module:

• Sociology 1A :SOCI5121

• Bachelor of Arts Honours/ Bachelor of Social Science Honours degree in Sociology.

• Postgraduate Diploma, MA/ MPhil, PhD/ DPhil qualification in Sociology.

• Work experience is not as critical for the Sociology module as it is relatively theory based, but lecturers must be able to apply the theory to a relevant work environment.
• A practicing sociologist in politics, rural or developmental sociology would be an advantage.
