The nGAP involves the recruitment, support, and retention of highly capable young scholars as new academics in the above-mentioned discipline.The nGAP Programme provides a wonderful supporting environment for aspirant academics to complete their studies while developing teaching and learning, research, and innovation as well as community engagement skills.The following generic criteria are applicable: Master's degree with an average percentage of at least 70.xe2x80xa2 Interest in becoming an academic xe2x80xa2 Be 40 years or younger xe2x80xa2 Evidence of eligibility to undertake postgraduate study at a Doctoral level xe2x80xa2 Willingness to commit to placement at the University of Venda for the full 6 years of the programme xe2x80xa2 Commit to registering for doctoral studies within 3 months of taking up the nGAP appointment and completion of doctoral degree in the relevant field of specialization during the first 3 years of employment as an nGAP Lecturer.Duties: xe2x80xa2 Lecture students at undergraduate and postgraduate level xe2x80xa2 Initiate and be involved in community engagement initiatives xe2x80xa2 Curriculum and programme development xe2x80xa2 Setting and assessment of exam papers and assessing portfolio of evidence xe2x80xa2 Supervise students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and undertake researchxe2x80xa2 Involvement in departmental research and publicationsxe2x80xa2 Assist with administrative duties in the department and/or Faculty xe2x80xa2 Attendance of developmental workshops for teaching and learningxe2x80xa2 Participation in tutoring and mentoring activitiesxe2x80xa2 Participation in all components and activities of the nGAP programme for the duration of the contractxe2x80xa2
