Lecturing on the Bachelor of Marine Engineering. Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience Lecturer:
Masters in Marine Engineering or related field.
At least 2-years relevant teaching experience in higher education and/or 2-years industrial experience in Maritime.
Seagoing Certificate of Competency Class 1 or Class 2 (must have completed appropriate sea service to obtaining Class1 COC)
A registration with a relevant professional body is recommended.
Junior Lecturer:
A Postgraduate Diploma /Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Honours) /PG Dip/ NHD /BTech degree in Marine Engineering or related field.
Seagoing Certificate of Competency Class 1 or Class 2 (must have completed appropriate sea service to obtaining Class1 COC)
Recommendation:
Relevant teaching experience in higher education and/or industrial experience in Maritime.
A registration with a relevant professional body is recommended.
Progress made towards a Masters in Marine Engineering or related field will be an advantage.
Important notes:
Preference will be given to an appointment at the higher level.
Successful applicants for the Junior Lecturer post to commit to studying towards and completing a cognate Masters within 5 years of appointment.
