Lecturer- Geography Education - PolokwaneFull job description MANAGEMENT EDUCATIONLECTURER: GEOGRAPHY EDUCATIONA vacancy exists for a suitably qualified, experienced individual in the above-statedpost. The individual will form part of a dynamic team of academics, responsible forundergraduate and postgraduate Teaching, Research and Community Engagementin the Department of Social Sciences Education and Economic ManagementEducation, which s/he will be part of, within the School of Education, Faculty ofHumanities. Minimum Requirements for the PositionA PhD in Geography / Geography EducationTeacher qualification (e.g. PGCE, HED, or equivalent), orProof of enrolment towards teacher qualification.Evidence of publication record in accredited academic Journals will be anadded advantage.A minimum of 2 years' teaching experienceScholarly supervising of Masters and/or PhD students with a proven pass ratewill be an added advantage.Strong understanding of collaborative, ethical, innovative and effectiveleadership style and commitment to higher education standards will be anadded advantage.Driver's licenceDuties:Research: Supervise Honours, master's and PhD students, manageinvolvement in research processes and oversee and participate in project teams working on research projects, participation in conferences, producepublished articles/books/book chapters (measurable research outputs in DHETaccredited journals).Academic citizenship: Involvement in Community Engagement, take anactive role in professional organisations.Governance: Prepare course outlines and study guides, organise course files,deliver to deadlines, record of all academic activities, participate inDepartmental, School and Faculty committees.Performance Appraisal: undergo regular performance appraisalassessments.
