Job Description


Key Outputs

  • Develop apprentices and learners according to BWE and national requirements.
  • Drive knowledge assessments (DPC/ SGAs) and provide input into IDPs for artisans.
  • Perform training needs analyses and schedule employees in own region for development and gap closure.
  • Coordinate the development of artisans according to established training needs.
  • Prepare, communicate, and manage annual training plans for Service in own region.
  • Manage Service DPC administration in own region.
  • Comply with BWE and OEM Audit requirements.
  • Develop artisan coaching capabilities.
  • Conduct institutional training as prescribed by the Learning Academy and according to national qualification requirements.
  • Manage relationships with local colleges for sourcing of talent and facilitation of Caterpillar programmes.
  • Ensure NAMB (National Artisan Moderating Body) and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) development accreditation is maintained for own region.
  • Ensure appropriate registered apprentice intake annually in own region.
  • Conduct training for first year study school for apprentices
  • Ensure apprentices are qualified according to contractual timelines.
  • Plan and control a structured experience building on the job development program. This includes:
o planning and scheduling apprentice rotation o Regular one-on-one contact with apprentices to evaluate individual progress for moderation purposes.
  • Facilitate on-job performance evaluation.
Qualification, Experience and Competencies
  • Qualified in relevant trade (e.g. Diesel Mechanic / Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic) xe2x80x93 xe2x80x9cRed Sealxe2x80x9d
  • Caterpillar Certified (Foundational)
  • ETDP NQ4, Certified Assessor and Moderator advantageous
  • 3 years post qualification experience in relevant industry
