Lead Structural Engineer - DurbanAbout the position Key Responsibilities:- Form part of a multi-disciplinary team and lead the structural department.- Prepare detailed designs of re-inforced concrete, steel and timber structures.- Production of AutoCad and Revit structural engineering drawings and models- Production of reinforcement drawings and bending schedules.- Conduct site inspections and condition assessments on all types of structural engineering projects.- Preparation of reports for all stages of project implementation, including inception, feasibility/ business plans, concept & viability, design development, tender & procurement, close-out etc.- Overall contract/project management, including interaction with clients, contractors & other stakeholders, attendance of progress meetings, preparation of payment certificates, dealing with contractual claims etc.- Management of multi-disciplinary teams, junior staff and supervision of drawings, designs, reports etc.- Preparation of tender documentation, including specification writing, bill of quantities and drawings- Attend to all financial aspects required on the projects, which will include compiling of invoices, cost estimates for tendering purposes, compiling Bills of Quantities and reporting.Key Requirements:- B.Sc. or B.Eng. in civil engineering, with focus on the structural engineering discipline- Must be registered as a professional engineer at ECSA (Pr. Eng)- Minimum 15 years relevant experience with at least 5 years post registration experience.- Advanced proficiency in the following computer software programs:o AutoDesk AutoCad & Revit (pre-requisite)o Autodesk Revit - Reinforcement detailing and Creating Families (added advantage)o Prokon (pre-requisite)o Prokon SUMO modelling and Microsoft Projects (added advantage)- Knowledge of NHBRC rules and specifications (added advantage)- Must be fluent in English and be able to speak Isizulu (added advantage)- Minimum Code B (08) drivers licenseDesired Skills:AutodeskProkon SUMO modellingEngineering Project ManagementDesired Work Experience:More than 10 years Consulting EngineeringMore than 10 years Civil / Structural EngineeringDesired Qualification Level & Accreditations:DegreeEngineering Council of South AfricaAbout The Employer:A a multi-disciplinary consulting engineering firm with office across all provinces.Employer & Job Benefits:Medical Aid
