Job Description

Were recruiting for an experienced High-Voltage Engineer to take ownership of primary high-voltage components and the structures that support and position them. This includes equipment such as high-voltage transformers, circuit breakers, disconnectors, current and voltage transformers, as well as associated cabling, line connections, and support structures.
This is a senior, hands-on role where you'll lead both internal and external engineering teams and be involved end-to-end -- from early-stage design through to execution and successful project delivery.
What You'll Be Doing

• Converting functional requirements into detailed engineering designs and practical project plans
• Designing and validating integrated high-voltage solutions in line with customer requirements, industry standards, and regulatory frameworks
• Preparing, reviewing, and approving technical drawings, calculations, and project documentation
• Supporting the Lead Engineer and Technical Manager throughout all project phases, from concept design to execution engineering
• Identifying design risks and bottlenecks, implementing solutions, and ensuring quality and compliance throughout the project lifecycle

What Were Looking For

• A Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Technology, or a related discipline
• Strong experience with high-voltage components such as circuit breakers, disconnectors, and electrical connections (highly advantageous)
• A genuine interest in power networks, high-voltage systems, and energy infrastructure
• At least 4 years experience working in high-voltage environments
• Proven leadership or management experience within an engineering or technical team
• A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with strong communication skills, analytical thinking, and a results-driven approach

NB - Afrikaans fluency would be advantageous.
