Job Summary BTech (Elec) / BSc (Eng) Electrical Engineering Microsoft office Microsoft Visio Murphy Powervision or Codesys or similar MicorcontrollerPLC IDE programming Optional Familiar with Diesel engine and transmission configuration management. This engineering position combines both hardware design and embedded system programming with the objective of delivering integrated machine electrical systems to the products. The candidate will become familiar with the entire product range of underground equipment and focus their skills on developing systems that are effective and robust while adhering to national and international electrical standards. These electrical systems are low voltage (24V DC and max.1000V AC). The engineer will also have opportunity to work with the latest sensor technology needed to implement various machine control systems. In novel applications, the position will require the engineer to work with suppliers in the selection of new electrical components. As part of the job function, the engineer will work closely to the electrical production department to guide the production team in the construction of new electrical panels. As part of a team, the electrical engineer will also be exposed to investigations of real systems to identify root causes and implement corrective actions should a failure occur. The design maintenance of older systems will also form part of the engineers duty. Although currently not part of the primary job function, the engineer will be given training to explore routed system design to aid in complete product development.
