Exciting opportunity for a Lead Cost Accountant!

Are you a meticulous, detail-oriented individual with a passion for financial analysis and cost management? My client is seeking a talented Lead Cost Accountant to join their dynamic team and play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operations of their company.
This is position is based in Durban South.

Duties:
Set and monitor standard costs using a fully absorbed, activity-based model, collaborating closely with Procurement and Operations.
Accurately load new and amended bill of materials in a timely manner.
Report weekly on factory performance, providing forecasts and insights.
Review and follow up on open orders, ensuring timely resolution.
Prepare month-end reports, including accruals, adjusting journals, and validation of GL accounts.
Manage cost variances on a daily basis and escalate material issues to site management.
Report monthly on material cost variances, over/under recoveries, and improvement projects.
Assist department heads with cost control, budgeting, and forecasting.
Evaluate investment proposals and conduct sensitivity analysis to ensure expected returns.
Ensure internal controls are adequate, compliant, and regularly monitored.
Identify cost reduction opportunities and contribute to improvement projects.
Support FSSC with inventory and fixed assets balance sheet reconciliations.
Ensure integrity of stock takes and adherence to standard operating procedures.
Provide guidance and support to cost accountant and analysts.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

• Completed CIMA
• Minimum of 5 to 8 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in an FMCG / Manufacturing industry with 3 to 5 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in a leadership position
• Experience in Oracle is highly advantageous
