To lead and manage the comprehensive feasibility study and development planning for a 10,000-capacity beef cattle feedlot and high-throughput abattoir. The Project Lead will ensure integrated, multi-disciplinary project delivery that aligns with environmental, regulatory, financial, and operational best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic leadership and direction for the entire feasibility study process.
Oversee and coordinate multi-disciplinary professional teams (engineering, environmental, infrastructure, livestock, logistics, marketing, etc.).
Conduct stakeholder engagement, manage timelines, and ensure high-quality deliverables.
Lead site assessments and ensure alignment with zoning, environmental, and infrastructure regulations.
Review and validate all technical designs for feedlot and abattoir layouts.
Coordinate the preparation of key deliverables including:
Site Assessment & Feasibility Report
Infrastructure Layout Designs
Environmental and Regulatory Compliance Plans
Operational and Management Models
Budget Projections and Financial Models
Risk Management and Implementation Timelines
Liaise with local authorities, suppliers, and stakeholders in the Eastern Cape to ensure local relevance and regulatory alignment.
Ensure compliance with environmental, construction, and agricultural development standards.
Provide monthly progress reports and final project documentation to the client.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Agriculture, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of
5 years of proven experience
in the
development of commercial abattoirs and cattle feedlots
.
Proven experience in leading feasibility studies or major agri-infrastructure projects.
Registration with a relevant professional body
is mandatory ECSA (for engineers) or SACPCMP (for construction/project managers) or equivalent depending on qualification.

Working Conditions:
Based on-site in Ngqushwa, Eastern Cape, with some travel within Amathole District.
Office and field-based work, including site inspections and stakeholder meetings.
Must be available full-time for the 6-month project period.
