Job Description
Laboratory Management, Health and safety management in the laboratories, Laboratory materials and equipment management, maintenance and resourcing, Practical demonstration and supervision, Postgraduate student support.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- A National Diploma in Chemical Engineering
- At least two years laboratory experience in a tertiary institution and or industrial experience in Chemical Engineering
- Good track record in demonstrating and supervising of Chemical Engineering practicals in a tertiary institution
- Knowledge and understanding of the latest technology and developments in the field Chemical Engineering
- Supervise and demonstrate laboratory practicals on the Chemical Engineering programme
- Ordering of chemicals, materials and equipment for the laboratories
- Supervise and mentor student laboratory practical.
- Organise and manage Chemical Engineering laboratory facilities.
- Health and safety management of the laboratories
- Support postgraduate students and supervisors in their research
- Assist with departmental administration.
- Proficient in English (written and spoken)
- Computer literacy e.g., Microsoft Office Suite
- Sound Interpersonal Skills
- Good Planning and organisational Skills
- Time Management Skills
