Purpose of the role

You will be part of the Sub-Saharan Africa Middle East and South Asia Regions Sampling Preparation and Analysis Gamsberg Laboratory team, who are dedicated to running an automated laboratory for our customers. By joining this team, you will have the chance to work in a multinational organization and in an environment involving different cultures and different challenges.

Your responsibilities

• Prepare and provide accurate sub-sampling and reliable analytical results in a timely manner
• Monitor, reconcile and control samples received with documentation provided..
• Prepare samples for analysis, according to the prescribed methods and standards for each analysis.
• Analyse samples by method using equipment/instruments.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments in accordance to the prescribed methods and standards for each Instrument.
• Monitor, co-ordinate and control the logging of analytical results on the LIMS system (computer).
• Report problems and anomalous results to supervisor.
• Maintain appropriate SHEQ standards within area of operation.
• Promote and manage the company / Group SHEQ policies and standards by ensuring compliance by colleagues and or clients alike.
• Participate actively in SHEQ meetings and audits and report deviations when and if requested to partake.
• Promote and maintain good housekeeping in the workplace.

What you bring

• National Grade 12 Certificate
• Math and Science in Grade 12 will be advantageous.
• Working experience in a robotic laboratory or analytical laboratory will be advantageous.
• Knowledge of work area and job requirements.
• Knowledge of analytical methods and procedures.
• Knowledge to Operate laboratory equipment/ instruments.
• Ability to perform basic laboratory functions.
• Analytical skills.
• Problem solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Self-motivated and well organized.
• Computer literate.
• Policies and Procedures xe2x80x93 Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective operations.
