Job Description
LABORATORY MANAGER
HOWICK
Responsible for overseeing the operations of two on-site laboratories, focusing on the reliability of results,
monitoring of daily outputs and providing statistical feedback on the product performance.
Minimum Requirements:
- DPRI or BSc in Chemistry (or equivalent qualification)
- 3-5+ years in a laboratory managerial role
- Experience in the rubber or chemical production industry
- Strong technical knowledge of laboratory systems and quality management standards
- Advanced MS Office and LIMS
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Managing daily lab operations and supervising laboratory staff
- Monitoring and analysing product and mixing data via LIMS
- Ensuring compliance with testing standards, methods, and quality systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001)
- Liaising with internal and external customers regarding product performance
- Supporting production and R&D teams with data-driven insights and troubleshooting
- Mentoring lab staff on testing procedures, data analysis, and wellness
- Overseeing laboratory budgets, audits, equipment calibration, and reporting
