Chemistry Laboratory Interns x3 positions available. 1 year contract.

Bemlab is a SANAS accredited laboratory specializing in chemical and microbiological testing for the water and agricultural industries. We are seeking three interns who are driven, hardworking, passionate and looking for hands-on experience within a testing laboratory. The candidate will gain experience in the Agricultural chemistry, Water Chemistry and/or Microbiology departments and will be assisting analysts and supervisors in performing tests, data entry, validation experiments and daily verifications of instruments and equipment. This is the perfect opportunity to grow your skills as an analyst and to learn the ins and outs of a working laboratory, including performing various practical chemical and microbiological tests and being trained to evaluate results. All training will be provided.

The candidate must be reliable and able to take initiative, have proven organizational skills, the ability to prioritize tasks and follow up on work. The individual must be able to work within a team and independently, under supervision. Overtime and weekend work may also be required as per work schedule and requirements and therefore the individual will require his/her own reliable transport.

Academic requirements:

Diploma, BTech/BSc Chemistry/Biochemistry/ Microbiology or related field

Clear understanding of GLP

Computer literate in Excel and Word

Competencies:

Clear understanding of the principles of Chemistry and/or Microbiology

Clear verbal and oral communication skills

Ability to

o work in a challenging environment

o work under pressure

o work as part of a team

o work independently

o produce accurate and detailed work

o follow instructions

Remuneration: Market related
