Market relatedMAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOBThe job incumbent will be responsible for safely preparing and conducting analytical tests on raw and in-process materials, final product and environmental samples according to procedureBACKGROUND INFORMATION REGARDING THE OPPORTUNITYThe job incumbent will be part of the Wet and Metal Laboratory team that delivers accurate and timely analyses for the customer. The laboratory serves multiple customers including production, environmental stakeholders, as well as final product customers.At MMC, the Laboratory Analysts perform analytical chemistry analyses and report on raw material, process control, final product and environmental samples. The value-add activities are done according to standard operating procedures.The job incumbent's role is a key function to this team, as the person will be responsible for generating accurate analyses that are used for decision-making within the company that could impact production outcomes. The role includes weekend and public holiday work. Senior analysts have the opportunity to gain experience by acting for supervisors as need arises.MMC offers a fast paced and dynamic working environment, where the person will have an opportunity to support MMC in keeping up with the industry standards and play a vital role in influencing the changes required to be on par with the industry standards. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Matric with Maths and Science
• 1 year Laboratory experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
• Computer literacy (basic)
