THE FOLLOWING POSITION IS AVAILABLE AT SIZA WATER:

LAB ASSISTANT (WWTW/01/2025)

The successful applicant is required to perform the following key functions, amongst other duties:

Assist in the collection and preparation of water and waste water from various sites (e.g. treatment plants, reservoirs, streams, distribution points). Support laboratory technician in conducting routine physical, chemical, and microbiological analysis. Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment according to set standards. Record and organise test data accurately and assist with basic reports or summaries. Ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance with laboratory protocols and quality systems (e.g. ISO 17025). Manage and replenish laboratory consumables and supplies. Other related Lab functions.

The applicant is required to have:

1. Qualifications

Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science. Diploma in Analytical Chemistry or Microbiology. A valid code 8 drivers' license.

2. Experience

2 years of experience in a similar position.

3. Skills

Basic knowledge of laboratory procedures and safety protocols. Proficient in Microsoft 360 Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
