Lab Analyst: Food R&D (CT) (LC_663) Scientific (Technical)
ESSENTIALS
BSc Hons / MSc in Food Science or related. 1-3 years work experience in a lab-based analytical testing. Experience running trials, analysing samples, and evaluating R&D results in small, medium & large-scale industry setting. Trouble shooting & reporting experience. Strong communication skills. Organised, self-motivated, enjoys structure and routine work. SA Citizen.
Location: Cape Town

DETAILS
A well-established Food Ingredient company are looking to hire a Lab Analyst to join their Technical Innovation team. The role involves planning and executing analytical trials, running suites of lab-based tests, systematically analysing, and reporting results, and communicating these findings. Other aspects to the role include R&D into current and potentially new raw materials, development of standard operating procedures for lab analyses and assisting with testing and production of raw materials for pilot and/or the commercial factory.
REQUIREMENTS
- BSc Hons / MSc in Food Science or related
- Proven analytical lab & research experience, testing food ingredients
- 1-3 years in a relevant industrial / factory / lab working environment
- Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously
- Highly analytical thinker, works with accuracy, attention to detail
- Rigorous work ethic, resilient, enjoys structure & routine
- Highly computer literate, MS Excel, Word etc.
- Excellent communication skills, written & verbal
- SA citizen
