Librarian ( JB1283)
Mowbray, Cape Town
Market Related
Responsible for acquiring, organizing, managing and distributing library resources and ensuring that library provision meets the needs of all its users
Manage, organize, evaluate and disseminate information, providing support to members of an academic community including students, researchers and lecturing staff.
Educational Requirements:
Diploma/Degree in Library Sciences
2 year plus library experience required
MS office competent
Duties and responsibilities:
Selecting, cataloguing and classifying library resources
To facilitate and support learning by teaching information literacy skills to students and staff within classrooms or virtual learning environments
To encourage a reading culture
Provide media and support services
Enforce library rules, policies and procedures and take appropriate action if need be
Ensure well stocked and resourceful library
Booklist and book maintenance
Book purchases
Management of branch libraries
Support services
