Chief Executive Officer (JB113) Johannesburg R750 000 – R850 000 per annum Neg 5 years fixed term – extendable contract An exciting opportunity exists for a CEO with a great passion for the music and arts industry. Seeking a CEO with an outgoing personality with exceptional knowledge and experience within the music and recording industry locally in South Africa and internationally. The CEO would be responsible for the strategic leadership, artistic direction and overall management of the organization. The responsibilities would include: Strategic leadership Creating artistic vision Governance and operations management People management and planning Fundraising – sponsorships, networking and brand building Interacting with artists, sponsors, funders, unions, musicians and funders etc. Educational requirements: Post Graduate degree or equivalent in the field of the performing arts and or arts administration as well as business related. Extensive knowledge of the local and international music and recording industry 5-6 years senior and/or executive management experience Evidence of successful track record in delivering an artistic programme which caters for multi-cultural audiences Knowledge of the cultural institutions act will be recommended and an advantage The CEO should have the following competencies: Strategic management Artistic programming Business planning and design Understanding of the public sector planning and reporting Demonstratable understanding of financial management, board packs, CEO reports, management reports Communication skills Analytical skills Good interpersonal skills Travelling is a prerequisite and additional hour is and essential requirement.
