Job Title: Kitchen Manager - Reports to: Group Executive Chef

Location: Regent Rd, Sea Point

Job Summary:



We are seeking an experienced and skilled Kitchen Manager to join our team, responsible for the daily operations of our open kitchen in a luxury dining environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong administrative focus, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.

Responsibilities:



Manage daily kitchen operations, including inventory management, ordering, and receiving

Oversee menu planning, recipe development, and food preparation

Lead a team of cooks, prep staff, and dishwashers to ensure efficient and timely food production

Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and safety

Monitor and control food costs, labor costs, and waste management

Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service

Manage kitchen scheduling, staff training, and performance management

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment

Collaborate with the Executive Chef/Culinary Director on menu development, special events, and promotions

Utilize kitchen management software and systems to streamline operations and improve efficiency

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and company policies

Requirements:



3-5 years of experience in a kitchen management role, preferably in a luxury dining environment

Strong administrative and organizational skills

Excellent leadership and communication skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen

Knowledge of kitchen operations, menu planning, and food safety

Proficient in kitchen management software and systems

Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in a standing position for long periods

Relevant culinary certifications a plus

Working Conditions:



The Kitchen Manager will work in an open kitchen environment.

The role requires frequent standing, walking, and lifting.

The ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, is required.
