Job Title: Kids Ministry Leader & Cook

Head of Operations

Job Summary



This is a dual-role position responsible for leading children in spiritual growth while ensuring they receive healthy, nutritious meals. The successful candidate will be a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, gifted in teaching biblical truths in an age-appropriate way, and capable of preparing meals with excellence. This role blends a shepherd's heart with the practical skills of cooking, all to the glory of God.

Key Responsibilities



1. Kids Ministry Leadership



Spiritual Development:

Plan and lead engaging lessons, worship, and activities for children aged 4-17.

Ministry Environment:

Create a safe, fun, and inclusive atmosphere where children feel valued and loved, while maintaining discipline with grace.

Volunteer Management:

Recruit, train, and schedule volunteers to support ministry activities; equip them with resources and encouragement.

Parent Engagement:

Build strong relationships with parents/guardians, sharing updates on their children's growth and ministry involvement.

Special Events:

Plan and lead holiday programmes, parties, and family outreach initiatives.

2. Cooking for the Feeding Programme



Meal Preparation:

Plan, prepare, and cook nutritious, child-friendly meals for all children at the centre.

Kitchen & Food Safety:

Maintain cleanliness and comply with all food safety and health standards, including proper storage, handling, and waste management.

Menu Planning:

Develop balanced and appealing weekly/monthly menus within the programme's budget.

Inventory Management:

Monitor stock levels, communicate supply needs, and assist with food ordering and receiving.

Serving:

Oversee the joyful and orderly distribution of meals to children.

Qualifications



Faith:

A strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a passion for discipling children.

Experience:

Previous experience in children's ministry, teaching, or similar roles. Experience in cooking or food service, preferably for large groups.

Skills:

Strong biblical knowledge and ability to share it in a way children can understand. Leadership, organisational, and communication skills. Competence in cooking with knowledge of food safety. Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment. Compassionate, patient, and joyful character.

Background Check:

Must successfully pass a comprehensive background screening.

Working Conditions



Work days: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and the second Saturday of each month. The role requires flexibility to meet programme needs. The position involves both classroom and kitchen responsibilities.
