RPO Recruitment's Client is urgently seeking the expertise of an Junior Surveyor in the Northern Cape. As a Junior Surveyor, you will assist in the execution of daily survey tasks that support production, planning, and compliance activities. This includes pit pickups, drill and blast pattern mark-ups, volume calculations, and surface mapping. The role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong fieldwork capability, and a commitment to maintaining safe working practices at all times.
Responsibilities:

• Assist in conducting daily pit and stockpile surveys to support production tracking and ore control.
• Mark out drill patterns, blast holes, pit boundaries, and infrastructure locations as directed.
• Perform pickups and as-builts of benches, ramps, dumps, haul roads, and other mining features.
• Set up, operate, and maintain survey instruments
• Download, process, and validate survey data to support volume calculations, reconciliation, and reporting.
• Maintain accurate survey records, logs, and data backups.
• Ensure all work is performed in line with site safety standards and environmental procedures.
• Support the survey team in equipment calibration, upkeep, and logistics.
• Work collaboratively with mining, geology, and engineering teams to ensure survey support meets operational requirements.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Mine Surveying, Geomatics, or related field.
• 3 years of field experience (open pit experience advantageous but not essential).
• Valid driver's license.
• Exposure to drone surveying and data processing is a plus.
• Must be physically fit and able to work in a hot, dusty, and physically demanding environment
