Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a talented and motivated Junior Sous Chef to join a prestigious luxury guest house and villa in Franschhoek. This role is ideal for a culinary professional eager to develop their skills in a refined hospitality environment while contributing to exceptional dining experiences.
Package:
Salary: R10,000 per month
Live-out position
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Sous Chef with daily kitchen operations and staff supervision.
Prepare and cook menu items in line with established recipes, quality, and presentation standards.
Oversee food preparation to ensure all quality, hygiene, and safety standards are met.
Support in training and mentoring kitchen staff, encouraging best practices.
Assist with stock control, inventory management, and ordering supplies.
Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and efficiency within the kitchen and storage areas.
Collaborate with the culinary team to create and execute daily specials.
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and food hygiene regulations.
Qualifications & Experience:
Culinary degree or relevant experience in a professional kitchen.
Previous experience as a line cook or similar role is preferred.
Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety, and kitchen best practices.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.
Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items.
Capable of working in a high-heat, busy kitchen environment.
