We are currently searching for a Junior Quality and Compliance Assistant to become an integral part of our team. This position plays a pivotal role in upholding our firm's dedication to Quality and Compliance, ensuring adherences to the highest standards of quality and regulatory compliance.
Minimum Requirements
Must be a South African citizen.
Degree in Accounting, Auditing, or related field.
2-4 years' experience in an audit and/or quality control environment.
Working knowledge of auditing standards and IRBA requirements.
Proficient knowledge of the International Financial Reporting Standards.
Familiarity with JSE listing requirements is advantageous.
Exposure to ISQM 1 and ISQM 2 will be advantageous.
Competence in IT systems including Microsoft Office and CaseWare.
Strong attention to detail, with excellent organisational, and communication skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
Support the implementation and ongoing monitoring of the firm's quality management system in line with ISQM 1 and ISQM 2.
Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of quality control activities and findings across the firm.
Assist with Know Your Customer (KYC) compliance monitoring and documentation.
Identify, document, and assist in the remediation of quality deficiencies.
Assist in preparing quality monitoring reports, summaries, and presentations for internal committees and management.
Assist in maintaining, reviewing, and updating quality control manuals, policies, and procedures.
Stay informed of industry trends, regulatory developments, and best practices related to audit quality.
Assist with monitoring adherence to firm-wide policies and procedures, including lockdown, independence, and ethical requirements.
Support quality reviews of selected high-risk audit engagements.
Assist in monitoring mandatory training compliance and support quality-related training initiatives.
Support compliance with IRBA requirements and other applicable statutory and regulatory obligations.
* Report to the Head of Quality and Compliance and work under guidance to support quality and compliance initiatives.
