PURPOSE OF THE FUNCTION
The purpose of this role is to ensure that; the manufactured product adheres to a defined set of quality criteria and/or meets the requirements of the client / customer (Quality Control), production processes in place are effective, understood and followed as per company guidelines (IMS / Policies) and that all incoming raw materials adhere to specifications.
QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 2 year in similar role, Matric with a relevant Quality Technician Certificate or any formal Engineering Qualification.

Advantage include;

• Certificate for Internal Auditing (ISO 9001)
• Level 2 Non-destructive test (NDT) Inspector
• Understanding of Lean Methodology/Concepts and Execution

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• At minimum of 2 years in similar job-related experience with above qualifications.
• Must be computer skilled in Microsoft Packages; Outlook, Excel, Access, One Note, Skype, Planner and Teams, Word, Power Point, MS Projects and be able to learn various client portals when required to.
• Must be able to read and understand technical drawings, and do comparison measurements on actual products/items
• Design, develop and executing of Quality Control Plans (Manufacturing, Corrosion Protection, Welding, other)
• 3rd Party Quality Inspections (Leading and support)
• Understand or be able to learn Customer standards related to the valve industry (SOEs and various water boards.)
• Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) experience in Dye Penetration, Magnetic Particle, Electric Insulation Detection, blast profile and Dry film thickness measuring.
• Corrosion Protection (Types, Data Sheets, Interpretation of technical requirements)
• Non-Conformance process (NCR), Corrective actions and Preventative Actions (CAPA)

• work as part of an integrated team (Quality, OHS, Sales, Projects, Production, Customer and/or 3rd party inspectors)
• work overtime if and when company requires - with prior notice
• Good interpersonal and relations skills- well Spoken and Polite, able to handle conflict situations and work under pressure (Good Communicator)
• Competent in use of measuring equipment, dimensional to drawings and dimensional to product.
• Working with 3rd Party Inspections, data books and QCP's (Execution of Hold points)
• Efficient and pay attention to detail
• Produce neat and well-presented work and present this to the required party on time
• Fast Learner and ability to adapt to change with own Transport
