Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate and assist in the steam distillation of plant materials. Perform physical tasks including the weighing, loading, and moving of raw materials. Conduct local driving to various processors for the collection and delivery of plant material (a valid driver's licence and own transport are required). Perform basic and proactive maintenance on equipment; identify and resolve issues promptly. Assist with the operation and monitoring of boilers and related distillation equipment. Adhere strictly to all company health, safety, and food safety protocols. Work collaboratively within a team and demonstrate a strong willingness to learn new skills.
Requirements:
A strong mechanical aptitude and maintenance background (experience with boilers or distillation is highly advantageous). Welding skills are a distinct advantage. Physically fit and able to perform manual labour in a production environment. Valid driver's licence and own, reliable transport. Fluency in both Afrikaans and English. A proven "hard worker" with a proactive, can-do attitude. Understanding of, or willingness to be trained in, food safety protocols (e.g., FSSC). A valid forklift licence is highly beneficial. * A Professional Driving Permit (PDP) is highly beneficial.
