Job Description

A small law firm specialising in commercial, labour, and contractural law is looking for a well organised, detail-oriented and reliable office secretary to join their team from 2 March 2026.

Key Responsibilities



General legal secretarial and administrative support to two professionals.

Drafting and formatting correspondence, pleadings, and legal documents.

Filing, scanning, and maintaining client files (physical and electronic).

Managing diaries, court dates, and appointments.

Liaising with clients, courts, sheriffs, advocates and other attorneys.

Answering telephone calls and managing email correspondence.

Dictation typing.

Assisting with billing and basic accounts administration (where required).

Minimum Requirements



3-5 years' experience in a law firm (essential) - with contactable references.

Basic understanding of legal procedures and terminology

Strong typing, formatting, and organisational skills

Proficiency in MS Word & Outlook. Essential to have a good practical working knowledge of the Court Online and Caselines platforms

Good communication skills and professional telephone manner

Ability to work independently and manage deadlines

Matric (legal secretarial qualification advantageous but not essential)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to R15000,00 per month

Work Location: In person
