The Role: Junior IT Technician
As a Junior IT Technician, you'll provide day-to-day technical support to internal users across multiple systems and platforms. This includes troubleshooting hardware and software issues, maintaining system performance, and delivering responsive, courteous support to staff, guests, and tenants. This role is fully on-site, with no hybrid or remote options, and requires a proactive mindset, sound technical foundation, and strong attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
Respond to and resolve Tier 1 helpdesk support tickets across hardware and software
Set up, configure, and deploy workstations and peripheral devices
Provide support for Windows, macOS, MS Office, and Microsoft 365
Complete and file administrative tasks, checklists, and asset register updates
Assist with server checks and basic Active Directory troubleshooting
Support networking tasks, including cable installations and endpoint support
Coordinate with third-party vendors for repairs, quotes, and deliveries
Troubleshoot printers, POS systems (Simphony), CCTV, access control, and audio/visual equipment
Monitor backup systems and assist with recovery testing
Provide on-site event tech support and ensure uptime for AV and communications equipment
Assist with mobile phone setup and software configuration
Ensure regular communication of passwords and security updates to staff
About You
Grade 12 (Matric) is essential
13 years of IT support experience in a fast-paced environment
Microsoft Certification or equivalent is preferred
Familiar with Microsoft 365 Cloud and general networking concepts
Drivers licence required
Previous experience in the hospitality or tourism sectors is an advantage
Comfortable with Windows and macOS operating systems
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Organised, service-focused, and eager to learn
Available for occasional after-hours support as needed
